I'm too much a musical locavore to do a list like this. But I'd prolly include Eminem and Disturbed anyway, so it's just as well. And no list would be complete without the Drive by Truckers -- Ronnie and Neil might compete for the top spot.
(I like my tunes a little harder than Bob...)

Good to see Rush on the list - easily one of the best concerts (especially a number of years ago when they played all of 2112 live).

Mmm... this decade, my list would be some blend of Melechesh, Dimmu Borgir, Fear Factory, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Pushmonkey, KMFDM and Rammstein. Alas I haven't gotten into Pearl Jam's more recent material.

Oh, I kinda lied. I dug up a top 10 list I posted on a forum. Listed chronologically:
Iron Maiden - "Out of the Silent Planet" (2000)
MDFMK - "©ontrol¿" (2000)
U2 - "Beautiful Day" (2000)
Paradise Lost - "Mouth" (2001)
Pushmonkey - "Chemical Skin" (2001)
Dimmu Borgir - "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" (2003)
W.A.S.P. - "The Red Room Of The Rising Sun" (2004)
Dimmu Borgir - The Serpentine Offering (2007)
In This Moment - "Beautiful Tragedy" (2007)
Def Leppard - "Come Undone" (2008)
There are a couple Melechesh titles that deserve to be on the list as well. The lack of Fear Factory is clearly an oversight, at the very least their "Digimortal" and "Archetype" should be on there.

Bob,
Love the site, love the content, been here since the beginning, but honestly, you have really shitty taste in music.
Now I understand that is a completely subjective statement.
But trust me, you have shitty taste in music...

Off point, but in case no one's heard.....Rush Limbaugh is in serious condition at a Hawaii hospital with chest pains. I consider this "man" largely responsible for much death and destruction in our country and abroad, so I shed no tears

Here's a baker's dozen, or so, of my favorites. These songs are all good. That's not an opinion! If you live in Chicago near Wrigley Field or Wicker Park, and have heard some of these songs blasting out of some prick's car, there's a really good chance that prick was me.
*Pearl Jam- Can't Keep
*Red Hot Chli Peppers- Can't Stop
*White Stripes- The Union Forever
*Bloc Party- Banquet
*Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Y Control
*The Strokes- Electricityscape
*Modest Mouse- 3rd Planet
*The Roots- Here I Come
*TV On The Radio- DLZ
*The Killers- All These Things That I've Done
*Kanye West- Heard Em' Say
*Chris Martin/Kanye- Homecoming
*Jay Z- 99 Problems
*Asher Roth- Sour Patch Kids
*Drowning Pool- Bodies
Happy New Year!

The past decade was so tumultuous and my musical tastes so varied, it would take me hours, if not days, to make a top 20 list. Since music can bring back so many strong memories, I don't think I'd like to try this feat.
That said, the Postal Service would be in there some place.
