Morning Awesome

RedLetterMedia's Review of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Part one of seven. Additional segments after the jump.
Awesome Hall of Fame Nominee.

This is arguably the greatest thing ever to be posted on YouTube. Seriously. You will never watch the prequels the same way again, though I think by Episode III some -- some! -- of the problems were fixed.

You can expect George Lucas to legally body slam this reviewer in 5... 4... 3...

That was fantastic. I loved the part where he says "in this clip...whichwasusedpurelyforeducationalpurposes..."

He could already feel the dark side of Lucas' Lawyer Force breathing down his neck.

Yeah, I watched this yesterday. Just pure, brilliant win on every level. I hated The Phantom Menace to begin with, but his dissection of it just made me hate it even more.

Also, it's good to know I'm not the only one with a woman tied up in my basement.

Except for the original film (1977), I hate the Star Wars franchise. I understand the need for myth in society, but I hardly feel that the Star Wars films meet that need in any constructive way, but on an even more basic level, they just aren't entertaining films whatsoever. I love science fiction and fantasy films and literature, so it pains me to be negative about a much beloved science fiction fantasy such as this. Give me the still fresh ale of 2001: A Space Odyssey any day over this stale brew from Lucas.

Truly awesome. I'll have to watch the rest of it later. I do agree with ZIRGAR, I was never into the original Star Wars franchise to begin with and I was 11 years old when the original was released, perfect for that age group you'd think.

Yeah. I thought this review was really great.

It's kinda like George Lucas is wearing a gray uniform and is from the south, and this reviewer is, like, wearing a blue uniform and kicking his ass.

Like a certain part of our history called:

The REVOLUTION!

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. That was just brilliant not only as a review but as a way to spend a couple hours avoiding work on this day before vacation.

Part 5 - 3:41 through 5:31 is WIN WIN WIN!

Here is another great, snarky, review:

Adding: One thing I keep seeing recently is about Die Hard. Everyone keeps calling McClane the protagonist. He is the antagonist, yet still the hero. (I just watched the Director's Commentary) Hans sets everything in motion, so he is the protagonist, while still being the villain. This makes the movie more enjoyable, cause you kinda root for Hans and McClane at the same time.
