Say It With Me: The Jobs Bill Is Too Small
Only $70 billion? Really? Robert Reich:
We don't know exactly how much the President is proposing to spend, but sources tell me it's in the range of $70 billion, redirected from the $200 billion in TARP savings. The President's small, calibrated attempt to balance a stimulus with deficit reduction will in fact make the deficit worse over the long haul.
I have to drive 90 minutes to the nearest commuter train, and I'm not that far off the grid. How about some light rail connecting the half-dozen midsize cities in eastern Pennsylvania? You know Pennsylvania, Mr. President. The swing state.

If this is true, it's great to see that Obama's learned the lesson from Roosevelt's example set way back in the 30's and 40's...oh, shit! He hasn't!

Just a thought, but does anyone think that the stronger push to pay down the deficit came about after discussions with China? Is China playing hardball and Obama wants to pay off as much of our debt to them to get us out from their demands?
