Nobody Should Run For the Hills -- Except Us

Ezra reacts to Emanuel's remarks about delaying healthcare until after jobs and financial reform.

The timetable Emanuel is laying out makes little sense. The jobs bill will take some time. Financial regulation will take much longer. Let's be conservative and give all this four months. Is Emanuel really suggesting that he expects Congress to return to health-care reform in the summer before the election?

Procrastination will kill healthcare reform, and the Obama administration with it. Say nothing of the fact that this signals more willingness to run for the hills, even though the president explicitly urged Congress not to do that.

I really hate to be one of those people, but Rahm Emanuel has to go.

Bob! This is off topic but, the President just ate the faces of each and every Republican in the room at their bullshit retreat! It was masterful! Please get clips! URGENT!

Rox -- I saw about one minute of that and he was doing great. It's online at C-span.

AS for Rahm, I'm ready to smack him upside the head. Try to knock some sense into that guy.

Maybe I lost score, but I dont think everything Rahm has said before actually became reality.

If Pelosi says they will pass reform whatever it takes, I have to believe her. The senate already passed a bill.

I agree Roxsteady. It was amazing to watch. Afterward, Luke Russert said a Republican told him off the record that it was a huge mistake on their part to agree to televise this. Heh, heh!

Twitter hashtag #questiontime for reaction and support of the POTUS smackdown of the republican caucus. Let's make this a once-a-month regular event. Oh, and it HAS TO BE televised, it's the only way we will know the truth of what happens.

@J M Asby- True, it hasn't came into reality. That's whay I am not going to turn on the poutage meter at the moment.

What should be posted all around the left blogistan right now is Obama schooling the GOP. That was epic. He was so stern, like a daddy.

Procrastination will kill healthcare reform

That has been the plan all along. How sad so many democrats have been complicit. President Obama's election - and the large majorities in both Houses - provided a clear mandate to take action. Instead of doing that, they hemmed and hawed and let the rethugs (and the complicit MSM) control the message and delay action.

Yes, I'm tired of Rahm too. Maybe he should think about going home and running for govenor. As for Obama's bitch slapping of the GOP, I also saw a reporter on CNN who said that she interviewed a Republican before the event and she asked him what he wanted to hear from the President and he said that they wanted an olive branch from the President and that they wanted him to listen to them.

I have the feeling it didn't go the way they planned. An olive branch? WTF? As my sister said, they got a whole tree shoved up their asses! This is one time where I'm actually going to watch Hardball today. Tweetie probably soiled himself when he was this fiasco this afternoon. By the way, Mark Ambinder tweeted that fox cut away from the @&A. They were the only ones who did. It was actually 20 minutes before it ended. That tells you how well it was going for their party.
