Congressman John Murtha Dead at 77
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman John P. Murtha (PA-12) passed away peacefully this afternoon at 1:18 p.m. at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. At his bedside was his family.
While he wasn't the most honest politician, he spoke out against the Iraq occupation when it was politically dangerous to do so.

I'll be surprised if this seat goes to another Democrat when they hold an election for it. It's outside of the Pittsburgh area in "red" Pennsylvania.

Murtha had more to do with getting us out of Iraq than getting us into it. I'd say he saved lives through his actions, and it forgives his several other misdeeds.
RIP.

I'm sad. He wasn't a saint, but he also did a lot of good.

Goodbye to another blow hard douche bag. Murtha was a phony from start to finish, from his purple hearts that were awarded after he lobbyied his local congressman after the war to Absca. This fat drunk voted for the war in Iraq and then when it was no longer popular, like a fad diet in America, he opposed it. Rot in hell douche bag!
