Was Sarah Palin Cheating on her Q&A?
There's video evidence here clearly showing a cheat sheet scrawled on the palm of her hand. You decide.
And yet she still said "conventional sources of resources."
UPDATE: Huffington Post provides the photo evidence:

She needed a cheat sheet to remember "energy" and "budget tax cuts?" What the bloody hell? These are her two big things and she needed them scrawled on the palm of her hand? Wow. WOW.

From here on out we shall refer to this as her telepalmer.

I laughed and laughed and laughed at first, but I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with her. She says the same stuff over and over, repeats the same talking points, why would she need to write key topics in the palm of her hand?

Telepalmer!!!! IntoxiNation, that was hysterical! What a joke. I just saw Jake Tapper doing a promo on Weekend GMA and he said that since Palin stated her support last night for contested primaries, that in the short term, it's Republicans that should be worried and Dems in the long term. WTF? These idiots continue to take this ignorant harpy seriously, while she avoids real "journalists" like the plague. After the cliff notes hand job she pulled last night, she should be the laughing stock of politics!

I think that the last part says Lift American Spirits. That sure lifted my spirits.
Palin was on Fox News with Wallace this morning and lies were just oozing out of her. For example, she called our Rahm for using the adjective "retard" because "the White House has not sufficiently paid attention to the issues of the handicapped" (roughly).
But Rush saying "retarded retards" was a joke.
Really, she said that.

Intoxination - it's still really early here in Arizona, and I don't think anybody will top this one all day. Telepalmer -- that's funny as all hell!
My favorite was the person standing outside with the "You can't fix stupid" sign. For the first time, I absolutely agree with a teabagger. You really can't fix stupid.

And what was that whole "The world looks to Alaska as that shining beacon of hope" BS? She clearly meant America but, those idiots in T-Shirts and Leisure Suits didn't seem to notice.

Between this fiasco and the details of her governage of the Great State of Alaska, there also, her defenders will defensively defend her even more vigorously than before.
She is one of them. Ill informed. Lightly battered in education. Incapable of articulating their grievances, which many times come down to plain old fear of the unknown.
We're lucky that she's just greedy and not really that smart, or she might be very dangerous indeed.

She made the teleprompter dig while looking down at her notes.
And, I gotta say, watching a person giving a speech while using notes is really distracting. Her head kept bobbing up & down & she kept losing her place.

She obviously has a one-track mind. While remembering to inhale-exhale-inhale-exhale she just can't be bothered with trivial details.

I honest -to-God do not get what the big deal is about this.
You folks MAKE her a big deal with all the attention you pay her.

"You folks MAKE her a big deal with all the attention you pay her."
I think it really is an "elitist" mindset. This woman has at best, AVERAGE intelligence, which this demonstrates. And I think we on the left, ASSUME that everyone would demand high intelligence from our leaders.
I know we're wrong on that, as Bush and Palin prove. We just can't get past the fact that so many millions of Americans believe she is highly qualified for the most powerful and demanding job in the world, and there are so many examples like this, and the more there are, the more flabbergasted we get, so we keep presenting these examples, wondering when the teabaggers and the media will wake up and start paying attention to her raging incompetence and hypocrisy.

PPP - You've got to be kidding. The big deal is that this is who the wingnuts have chosen to be their leader, and while she criticizes the president for using a teleprompter that presidents have ben using for the last 30+ years, including Reagan who she mentioned at least a dozen times last night, she's acting like a high school cheerleader writing down talking points on the palm of her hand that everyone else can recite in their sleep, so she doesn't fail her pop quiz, even though she knew the questions beforehand.
She has a Downs Syndrome baby and is appalled at Rahm Emanuel's use of the word "retarded" but has no problem with Rush Limbaugh using it and is even making excuses for him.
You don't think that hypocrisy has to be called out?!

The big deal is that Bush was not intellectually fit to be president. I don't think he is dumb, just too lazy to give a shit about spending the time and energy to deal with an extremely high level of detailed information. Intellectually fit is an important requirement for being the POTUS. Of course I could write much more about all the reasons he was not fit for the job.
I'm a Texas Democrat. I was shocked that he even became governor. I could not believe that half the whole nation could be fooled by him. I really thought there was no way he could be elected President.
I'm not going to make that same mistake again. This country can be led to elect any damn fool. Even an ignorant, ethics challenged liar like Palin.

Broadway Carl,
Maybe you missed it...if you did, I could understand it. When Bill O'Reilly interviewed her, he asked her a very pointed question about why the left hates her so much.
Amongst part of her answer was the biggest implication of all; that if the Left hadn't, and still didn't attack her so much, she wouldn't be as popular as she is with the Teabaggers.
You are creating your own monster.
I guarantee that if the left shuts up about her, she goes away quickly.

@PPP, I disagree. The more she is called out the fewer people like her -- all polling shows that. She will always hold onto her base. They are unwavering in their worship of her. But the more that's revealed about her, the more the independents and moderate Republicans dislike her. If the left didn't keep the pressure on, many people would still think of her as some ethical maverick who puts Country first and is a true family values candidate.
We aren't creating that monster. She was a monster long before she was dumped on the nation. Shannen Moore, Andrew Halcro and the other Alaskan bloggers have made that crystal clear.

Jennifer,
I don't know what polling you are talking about. I've seen no such indications.
You don't ever, ever, ever give your opponent more attention than is necessary, especially when it comes to politics. You are playing their game. You aren't educating people; my God! Americans love Survivor and Jersey Shore, for Christ's sake! They love controversy, and you are giving it to them in heapfulls, making yourselves look like a bunch of whiners.
Ask yourself this: Just how much attention do you think FDR would have given Palin?

She is playing the teabaggers like a cheap fiddel. She'll show up and toss raw beef at them for a price, but thats all. She isnt going to run for any office. She is only looking for money and she could never win anyway. I sincerely doubt that she gives a shit what the teabaggers or herself stand for anyway. She'll say whatever she thinks will get an applause.

Here is one example and only one. You can Google to find plenty more. She has consistently fallen in polls.
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/2009/1117/sarah-palin-going-rogue-to-the-white-house-polls-say-no
I didn't say that Obama should give her attention. And he never has. So the FDR comparison isn't relevant. But we and the press shouldn't ignore her when she fucks up. Ignoring gangreen doesn't make it go away. Neither will ignoring her.
And I agree with JM, that she only cares about raising money at this point. She has shown that by quitting as governor so she could make money off her book and FOX and the speaking circuit. I don't think her speech in China was about helping America. ;)

PPP, lately you've been pretty reasonable but I think you're way off here. Her people may support her more but the average undecided voter will not flock to her simply because the left is pointing out her incompetence. It's negative attention. That USUALLY works in politics, hence all the negative advertising.
Posted by: eljefejeff
at February 7, 2010 2:37 PM
Eljefe,
I'm not much into negative campaigns; I think they tend to piss people off more than anything.
Having said that, there is one, and only one negative ad that you run against Palin to beat her; she ABANDONED her post. Elected by citizens with a mandate, Palin abandoned her constituents. How can we ever know she won't do it again?
That's all you need. That's all people will understand. Keep it simple. All the other garbage will make her a martyr.

No one likes negative campaigns but unfortunately they usually work. Not always, of course, but if you hit the right negative message, like how the right wing turned John Kerry's Vietnam heroism into a liability through the swift boat ads, it can destroy your opponent

PPP, I disagree that it is the left that keeps her in the news. Palin does have a talent for grabbing the spotlight regardless of what the left thinks of her. No matter what the left thinks of her, FOX has every intention of keeping her in the public eye. I would bet huge amounts of money that deal was in the works before she quit as Governor.
Bill O'Reilley's and Glenn Beck's ratings are not where they are because the left has such disdain for them. Sarah's ability to get press has nothing to do with the left not liking her.
I agree with you that her abandoning her elected office is a huge negative for Palin.

PPP, I couldn't disagree with you more. If she is ignored, the meme will be, "Why is the left so silent about Palin? Could it be they're frightened of her?"
But I'm not going to debate it since you've made up your mind. We'll just have to agree to disagree without being disagreeable. ;-)

Sarah Palin's "HandJob"
Posted by: Multi Miscellaneous
at February 7, 2010 3:51 PM
@PPP: I don't know where that FDR question came from. Obama has barely said a peep about Palin, in fact I can't even remember him ever saying her name, not even when he was calling the death panel smear a lie.
And this idea that the Left is driving her popularity is bogus, unless of course you believe in that "liberal media" myth. The mainstream media bows to this woman and allows her to get away with everything. They push her in our faces every chance they get because she gets ratings. They have the gall to think that Americans would want this tripe to be our president, giving her the benefit of the doubt on everything - 'oh she can't be that stupid, maybe she has a point'.
What is driving her popularity is the willful ignorance of her supporters, the media's refusal to challenge her, her greed, her hunger to be famous, a bad economy, her hunger to be famous, and so much more that has nothing to do with the Left. I criticize the Left sometimes, but if they were to stay quiet on Palin, she would rise even more.
This is classic Palin. Never taking responsibility for her actions. Yes, it's the Left's fault that she has become a greedy attention whore who lies and manipulates her supporters.
