Please dont take my comment as cold but I was expecting this, it just seemed too inevidable.
But at least Mr. Olbermann got to spend plenty of quality time with his father at the end. For some it can come quite sudden and unexpectedly.

I'm so sorry for your loss and wish to convey my condolences to Keith and his family. I can only imagine how good is was for Keith to spend time with his dad at the end. May he rest in peace as he joins his beloved wife now in heaven. Amen

My deepest condolences to you, Keith.

May memories bring you comfort for that is your darling father's immortality.

Very sad. I hope NBC isnt giving him any grief for being off the show for an extended period here lately.

My dad died last April; I'm coming up on the year "anniversary" of his death. The world is so much different.
I'm glad Keith Olbermann got as long as he did with his dad and I'm very glad that he can know he did everything he could do to help his dad. Those updates from the hospital over the past weeks ripped out my heart; I remember being in that spot all too well.
I think I'm actually going to write and send a real letter.

My father died in November. He was 88 and we knew he was dying. A long time to say goodbye doesn't make the grief any easier. I always thought it would.
Keith showed the world that family is more important than job. Not many TV hosts would take as much time off as he did. I really admire him for that.
