Worst Persons
The (ironically titled) Fox News Channel "Brain Room."
They're framing the Sanders amendment -- the nationwide community healthcare centers -- as some sort of weird earmark or kickback just for Vermont. Which is absolutely untrue. They're also failing to clarify that the reconciliation sidecar will eliminate the Ben Nelson deal.
Actually, this raises a potential political counterpoint to be used against the Republicans. If any Republicans vote "no" on the sidecar, they're actually voting to preserve the Ben Nelson Medicaid deal -- the Cornhusker Kickback and the other nicknamed compromises.

Nice frame: vote for this or else you SUPPORT the Cornhusker kickback.

Bob, you appear to be unaware of what motivates these people.
They actually support the instance of the so-called "Cornhusker Kickback" because it gives them a somewhat relevant talking point that can be used to undermine the HCR effort rhetorically. Always remember that the Cons do not want the health care system touched, despite their current claims. Any tool they can use to diminish the impact of ANY HCR bill, they'll utilize it, including the debunked, yet regurgitated memes.
Know your enemy, people.

The republicans will turn around and take credit for healthcare the same way they do stimulus funds.
Just wait and see.

Had to spend time with my coworkers today at a seminar. During lunch, we argued HCR, and as usual, they hurled the same stupid talking points at me. Socialized medicine, don't trust the government, Obama raised taxes...what? Anyway, after we finally moved from HCR on to another subject, that of receiving money from our company to help cover gym memberships, one of my coworkers proudly told me he didn't have to pay for gym access. See, he and his wife are on Medicare, and they participate in the Silver Sneakers program, which allows them access to YMCA facilities free of charge. He was very, very proud of this.
I didn't even bother commenting.

@camel54: you are more restrained than I am, I would have ripped into that guy. And it would've ended with a comment about older people not caring about what they leave us.
