Make no mistake, Hayward is a jackass of the highest order and he's getting a massive golden parachute that will allow him to get back to his life in very high style. But he's only going to be replaced with another Hayward type. There's no chance BP will be any different. It is what it is. A multinational drug dealer that rapes the Earth for profit. The over-paid jackass running the show is more or less irrelevant.
