CNN spokesman Bridget Leininger confirmed to TPM that Rick Sanchez has been fired from CNN. "Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well."
A few things here. First, that was FAST. Second, if only the other cable news networks and radio syndicates were as willing to weed out obnoxious dickbaggery. And that includes CNN, by the way, which continues to employ Erick Erickson, who's responsible for a long list of awful things. And what about CNN analyst Alex Castellanos? Castellanos was the mastermind behind the flagrantly racist Jesse Helms "White Hands" ad. Still employed.
