These before and after slides make it appear as if Japan was hit by another series of atomic bombs. You really should take a look. They go a long way towards helping us understand how we're completely at the mercy of nature and, even though this wasn't manmade, how we should absolutely be more humble in the face of its destructive power.
After all, the Earth will always be here. We won't be.
