It's Not Amnesia, It's Destructive Ignorance

Former economic adviser to Vice President Biden, Jared Bernstein, appeared on MSNBC following the Republican debate and ripped into the candidates for their "amnesia" regarding economic policy.

Bernstein is a smart man, but it's not amnesia. Not even in the metaphorical sense.

It's willful ignorance. It's all about making a cynical pitch for the same old crap that forced us into a massive recession because it fits so perfectly onto a bumper sticker. It's so simplistic that doofus Republican primary votes (a majority of whom believe President Obama wasn't born in the U.S.) can understand it. It's marketing bubble gum claptrap horseshit on a shingle. Reaganomics failed. Reaganomics can not and must not be repeated.

If only it was amnesia.

But this kind of destructive repetition of a proven failed economic philosophy is untreatable. Not even the economic chaos that continues to this day following 30+ years of Reaganomics can convince them to cut the shit and get real about what works and what is utterly deadly.
