You should seriously watch this video from NOVA about the German solar energy policy. It makes total sense. Price controls and major financial incentives for people to install solar panels on their rooftops. German has also installed panels along the Autobahn.
It's always baffled me why America isn't THE premiere solar nation. Not only do we have a gazillion acres of barren, sun-drenched land, but we also have millions of homes and businesses with vacant rooftops. Wasted real estate. Think about the rooftops of shopping malls and department stores alone. Flat exposed nothingness.
