In most cases I would agree, however I do believe some politicians are fully aware that there are real people on the other end of their rhetoric, and they just so happen to hate those real people. I'm looking at you, Tea Party freshmen.

Jay-Z, who is worth nearly a billion dollars now, also approved of President Obama's same-sex marriage endorsement during his interview with CNN and said he does not believe the president is unfriendly to business.
