Decidedly Not Fair and Not Balanced

Watch Bill Hemmer of Fox News dismiss “talking points” before dispensing a few talking points of his own and then shout Paul Ryan’s Wall Street Journal Op-ed at Representative Chris Van Hollen as some form of self-validating argument.

It’s quite clear that the Republican establish is all set to plant their flag on Paul Ryan’s hill and die on it. Again. And if congress passes a continuing resolution that will fund the government through September, this Summer may end up looking very similar to last Summer which saw Republican lawmakers grilled at their local town halls for supporting the Ryan budget which then-candidate Mitt Romney described as “marvelous.”

If congressional Republicans’ approval rating wasn’t already so low, I’d guess this Summer would also entail a repeat of last Summer when their poll numbers bottomed out.

Everything old is new again. I can’t figure the GOP’s rationale for continuing to hoist Paul Ryan on their shoulders, but I suppose true believers don’t need one.
