Keepin’ It Classy

You know what isn’t funny ever? Rape jokes. Especially rape jokes that are made at the expense of a rape survivor.

This is so bad they even sent someone out onto the stage to tell him to shut up.

By the way, in breaking news, Ashley Judd just tweeted that buying Apple products, again, is akin to rape. From her iPhone. Rape—now she knows how my brain felt after Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Oh, she said it. What is this obsession with Ashley Judd and rape? It’s pretty unnerving.

Yeah. What is this obsession with Ashley Judd and rape?

It could have something to do with the fact that Judd has been raped three times in her life and she is using her experience and her hardship to speak out on behalf of other women who, unlike her, may be placing shame on themselves rather than their attackers.

When Judd spoke before congress several weeks ago, she said that she does not feel shame for what happened to her because she places the shame on her attackers. And in the rape culture we live in, which we just discussed here, it is very common for women and girls to place the shame and the blame on themselves.

According to Fox News contributor and life-long Frat Boy Steve Crowder, this is all very, very funny.

I can’t imagine why the Republican party is having difficulty reaching out to women.

Conservatives aren’t funny.

As stated before, the guy with the cool earpiece was definitely NOT sent out to “tell him to shut up”. He said “They’re not ready yet. Ad lib.” Of course, the rapier wit of Crowder could only come up with “How you doin’?” They had no intention of telling him that rape isn’t funny on any level.

  • zirgar

Conservatives ARE funny, just not intentionally so. What’s funny is that this Steven Crowder turd-slurper, or anyone else for that matter, thinks he’s actually funny. Also sad. And this guy claims to be a born-again Christian, yet he jokes about rape? Just like Jesus would do!

  • mrbrink

The people who can’t stop talking about rape want to know what the “obsession” is?

What’s worse is that they talk about rape from the buddy perspective of the rapist. That’s exactly what this is. A rape apologist shaming and attacking the victim on behalf of the rape party.

Why are rape victims so obsessed with rape?

  • D_C_Wilson

Even the audience at CPAC groaned at that “joke”.

That’s how you can tell you’ve definitely crossed the line

  • kushiro -

Yeah, there’s no way anyone was decent or aware enough to tell him to shut up. That guy told him the next speaker wasn’t ready yet, so “ad-lib”. Or in other words, “continue with your delightful observations, sir.”

  • peter_principle

Of COURSE the guy is going to downplay the seriousness of rape — it’s his only chance in hell of getting any.
