As I’m sure you know by now, a symbolic vote on assault weapons and broader gun control legislation won’t solve the problem. But I’m really encouraged by the president’s continued effort to at least keep up the pressure for some sort of action, not to mention the fact that he’s calling out Rand Paul and Ted Cruz who plan to filibuster the bill.
Unfortunately, as Tommy Christopher reported, MSNBC was the only network to carry the address. CNN and Fox News didn’t bother. But I’m sure Rand Paul’s next filibuster will receive wall-to-wall coverage, even though 90 percent of Americans disagree with Rand Paul’s position.
