Jonesing for Obamacare Repeal

House Speaker John Boehner explains why they’re going to vote to repeal Obamacare for 36th (37th?) time — the restless freshmen need their fix.

We’ve got 17 new members that have not had the opportunity to vote on the President’s health care law,” Boehner said, referring to next week’s ACA repeal vote. “Frankly they’ve been asking for an opportunity to vote on it, and we’re going to give it to them.

Picard and Riker Facepalm

Considering that the law, which was passed in 2010, is not going to be repealed and that it will continue to be the law of the land going forward, what House freshmen are really demanding is an opportunity to retroactively shake their fist at The Man by symbolically taking a piss on affordable health care. It’s childish.

If all we did was periodically hold symbolic votes to repeal legislation that was passed years ago by previous sessions of Congress, we would never get anything done.

Oh, wait.
