Monkey Business

Representative Frank Pallone (D-NJ) has had just about enough of the GOP’s monkey business.

After demonstrating that they clearly have no idea what they’re talking about, alleging that healthcare dot gov puts your private health information at risk, Frank Pallone gave the sham hearing a proper label.

PALLONE: I started out in my opening statement saying there was no legitimacy to this hearing and the last line of the questioning certainly confirms that. HIPAA only applies when there’s health information being provided.

That’s not in play here today. No health information is required in the application process. And why is that? Because pre-existing conditions don’t matter. So once again, here we have my Republican colleagues trying to scare everybody.

BARTON: If the gentleman will yield….

PALLONE: No I will not yield to this monkey court or whatever this thing is.

BARTON: This is not a monkey court.

PALLONE: Do whatever you want. I am not yielding.

If you can’t watch the video above, here’s a still image.

In all seriousness, when I explained to a family member that she would not be asked about her health conditions when she applies on the exchange, she was shocked and delighted.

My mother will save as much or more than $500 per month under Obamacare because her heart condition will no longer be a factor that insurance companies can use to jack her rate up.

As expected, today’s hearing has mostly been a demonstration of concern trolling.
