Obamacare is Working

According to a report from the Associated Press, nearly 500,000 people have filled out applications for health insurance on Obamacare exchanges.

Administration officials say more than 476,000 health insurance applications have been filed through federal and state exchanges. The figures mark the most detailed measure yet of the problem-plagued rollout of the insurance market place. [...]

The officials said technology experts from inside and outside the government are being brought in to work on the glitches, though they did not say how many workers were being added.

According to a separate report from Bloomberg, approximately 300,000 of those applications were filed in states that chose to set up their own exchange programs. The federal exchange has experienced problems that have limited the number of people that have successfully filed an application.

As you’ve likely heard, and as it was reported by the Associated Press, the Obama administration is bringing in additional personnel to improve the federal exchange. President Obama is expected to address the issue from the Rose Garden this morning some time after 11 a.m. eastern.

Open enrollment on the exchange lasts until March.
