The Week In Images

We’re barely into the new year, and already there’s been a flurry of goings-on, so to sum up some of the highlights, here are some images that will make you laugh and cry.

First up, Governor Chris Christie is “Playing in Traffic” on the cover of The New Yorker:

Next up, recently sworn in town councilman from New York, Christopher Schaeffer, could be America’s first duly-elected Pastafarian to hold office.

Next, a man named Rick Dyer: Bigfoot Hunter, claims he shot and killed Bigfoot in San Antonio, Texas and is planning to take the hairy beast’s corpse on tour.

Which brings us to Chewbacca, or actor Peter Mayhew, who, feeling #nostalgic, posted some never-before-released photos from his years as the lead-Wookie from the Star Wars saga.

In conclusion, America is a helluva country, with heroes and villains providing a lifetime of laughter and tears every single day. Here’s to the ride.
