Let’s Repeal Obamacare. Again.

Others say this is an attempt to “effectively delay” the individual mandate, but I would say it’s an attempt to effectively repeal the individual mandate.

President Obama apparently agrees.

“You know what they say: 50th time is the charm,” mocked President Barack Obama.

The House is set to vote Wednesday on a bill by Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) to effectively delay the individual mandate for one year by reducing the penalty in 2014 for not buying insurance from $95 to $0. [...]

The Republican-led chamber passed a similar bill last July, capturing 22 Democratic votes.

It looks like I was wrong.

I predicted that House Republicans wouldn’t pass another bill this year on their own (unless it was another abortion bill) but I wasn’t fully accounting for their continued desire to embarrass themselves over Obamacare.

Perhaps this will be the last thing they pass on their own.

Not to let it go unnoticed — reducing the penalty for not buying insurance from $95 to $0 would effectively increase the deficit.

Why do Republicans want to increase the deficit?
