Shocker: Christie Lawyers say Christie is Innocent

Good news for Chris Christie. Lawyers hired by the governor have concluded that he is innocent.

From the New York Times:

Now, after 70 interviews and at least $1 million in legal fees to be paid by state taxpayers, that review is set to be released, and according to people with firsthand knowledge of the inquiry, it has uncovered no evidence that the governor was involved in the plotting or directing of the lane closings.

The review is the first of multiple inquiries into a scandal that has jeopardized Mr. Christie’s political future. It will be viewed with intense skepticism, not only because it was commissioned by the governor but also because the firm conducting it, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, has close ties to the Christie administration and the firm’s lawyers were unable to interview three principal players in the shutdowns, including Bridget Anne Kelly, the governor’s former deputy chief of staff.

And if you take this at face value, I have a bridge to…

Local taxpayers must be happy about funding Christie’s investigation of himself.

That’s funny Sarah Palin did the same thing.

So… people hired by Christie have found him to be innocent.
They weren’t allowed to talk to three of the central folks, but they say. they had an “unfettered look” into what happened.

    Nope, nothing odd there.

In other news, Bobby’s mom says Timmy’s the one who broke the window, and he’s a bad influence on Bobby, though Bobby resists it and remains a very good boy, and also she thinks maybe Timmy’s mom is doing the landscaping guy.

Dontcha know? The more money you have the more innocent you are. I’m sure he’s a pure as the driven snow (that’s accumulated around Exit 14 to Newark).

If they’re playing this card already, there’s something there that Christie wants to keep buried. More than just the bridge scandal, which really isn’t that big a scandal and probably stops at his top aides. There’s something else that they want to keep hidden.
