GOP Chairmen Opposed the Select Committee

I’ve speculated that the real reason Boehner finally caved and formed the Select Solyndra IRS Committee to Investigate the Benghazi ACORN Birth Certificate is because he wanted to take the issue out of the hands of Darrell Issa who is both incompetent and ethically criminal.

Evidence is mounting that that may indeed be the case. Issa reportedly opposed the creation of the select committee as did two other committee chairmen.

Three Republican sources tell The Daily Beast that the chairmen of the House Intelligence, Armed Services, and Government Reform committees—Reps. Rogers, Buck McKeon, and Darrell Issa, respectively—all opposed the formation of a select committee on Benghazi. All three men have led their own investigations into the matter.

I’m not alone in thinking this was Boehner’s way of taking it out of Issa’s hands. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi also thinks so.

“Issa just is damaged goods,” Pelosi said during a Friday press briefing in the Capitol. “They had to move from him to another venue with another chairman. That’s what this is.”

Darrell Issa has devoted virtually all of his time to a series of fake scandals that date back to 2009 and he has nothing to show for it.

At some point Issa’s inquisition crossed a line where it was no longer providing fodder for conservative media and became a liability. Boehner had to take it out of Issa’s hands before he could do any more damage.
