Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel’s (R) campaign announced Thursday that they are offering 15 rewards of $1,000 each for people who can bring evidence that leads to the arrest and conviction of people involved in voter fraud in the Mississippi Republican runoff for U.S. Senate between McDaniel and Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), who won the runoff. [...]
The reward comes as McDaniel’s campaign says it has found more evidence of rampant misconduct and voter fraud in the runoff election.
The obvious question is this: if the McDaniel campaign has already uncovered evidence of fraud as they claim, why do they need to offer a reward for uncovering fraud? Where is their evidence? Does it exist? Why are there only 15 rewards available? 15 cases of fraud, if there are any, would not be enough to overturn the election.
Another question that comes to mind is how many nutjob racists will call in a bogus claim?
The message couldn’t be more clear or ironic given the Republican party’s past efforts (lol) to reach out to other demographics.
The message is if you’re a black voter, you better remain on your side of the aisle even if the law does not prohibit you from doing otherwise.
Mississippi conservatives are actually protesting the fact that minority voters crossed over and voted for one of their own. And rather than try to persuade them to make the same choice during the general election, conservatives are contenting that their votes are fraudulent.
If you’re an African American voter, why wouldn’t you exercise your right to vote for the opponent (Cochran) of a man (McDaniel) who associates with neo-confederate Lost Causers? Why wouldn’t anyone? That’s democracy. Does Chris McDaniel hate democracy?
Racism alone could prevent the Republican party from winning the White House again for a generation.
