GOP Rep: Why Aren’t We Impeaching?

Representative Walter Jones (R-NC) doesn’t want to sue the president because they could be impeaching the president instead.

“Why not impeach instead of wasting $1 million to $2 million of the taxpayers’ money?” Jones asked. “If you’re serious about this, use what the founders of the Constitution gave us.”

The congressman said he will vote against legislation authorizing the lawsuit, which will likely come to a vote on Thursday. The House Rules Committee voted to advance the legislation last week.

Why do Democrats keep talking about impeachment? It must be a fundraising scam.

The implication seems to be that impeachment wouldn’t also be a waste — perhaps a much larger waste — of taxpayer money.

A better question is. Why is msm not calling the conservatives/GOP/TB for lying? Their plenty video, print showing members of repub. caucus stating “time to impeachment.” msnbc morning joke w/ chuck todd are trying to whitewash previous statements of their party…

I’m all for the lawsuit, simply because I really want to see how Boehner will get past a standing hearing.

Judge: So, you’re suing because the president delayed enforcement of a portion of the law?

    Boehner: That’s right, Your Honor.

Judge: But, didn’t you request that he delay that section?

    Boehner: Well, technically, yes.

Judge: So, how exactly were you injured by the president’s action?

    Boehner: Ummmm.

Yes…yes…let the hate flow through you.

    Oh, and let Boner know.

Boehner: Obama impeachment talk a Democratic scam

I actually agree with Walter Jones.

Not because impeaching Barack Obama is a good idea. It’s not, and it would suck up time and money and attention better expended on solving actual problems.

Rather, the lawsuit allows the Rs to shake their fists in manly gestures of outrage!—and thereby placate the ones Bob calls the dumbstupids—without any real consequences. Impeachment would force them to put up or shut up, to show that they’re actually serious in their protestations of the Obama Administration’s “lawlessness” and “violations of the Constitution.”

Of course, suing a sitting president over his official activities is far less supported by the Constitution than any of the sitting president’s official activities that supposedly have the Rs’ knickers in a twist. Imagine that.
