Fox News host Andrea Tantaros wants to know where President Obama is at on the Ray Rice domestic violence situation.
“I wanna know, where is the President on this one?” Tantaros asked, after a brief throat-clearing about the NFL’s obligation to react to the tape.
“My question is — and not to bring it back to politics but — this is a White House that seems to bring up a ‘war on women’ every other week. A White House that’s very concerned about the NFL, concussions, etc., prescription drugs in locker rooms,” she said.
Not to bring it back to politics, but I can recall a time when the Republican party blocked the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) for over a year because Senate Democrats voted to extend existing protections to immigrant and Native American women. That bill was supported by the White House.
Not that this is an issue the White House or the president needs to answer for, but we can go there if you insist. Please proceed.
Tantaros’ colleagues at Fox News didn’t handle today’s viral news any better. Fox & Friends hosts and known paste eaters Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy took the opportunity to crack a few jokes.
“The message is, take the stairs,” Kilmeade said.
“The message is, when you’re in an elevator, there’s a camera,” Steve Doocy said.
Duh. If you’re going to beat your fiancee unconscious, make sure there’s no cameras.
