Neither of these two men will win the nomination or become president, and in Mitt Romney’s case he says he doesn’t plan to run for president again, but a new CNN/ORC poll reveals that Mitt Romney is the GOP’s current frontrunner followed by the second coming of Herman Cain.
According to the survey, 20 percent of voters say Romney would be their first choice for the nominee, with retired neurosurgeon and conservative activist Ben Carson coming in second with 10 percent of the vote.
Other big name contenders, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, round out the top four, garnering 9 percent and 8 percent, respectively. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee takes fifth place with 7 percent of the vote.

It may be easy to forget, but Mitt Romney was a terrible candidate who gaffed on a daily if not hourly basis. The only explanation I have for why Republican voters still want Romney is because they like the idea of Romney more than the actual person. They like the idea of a business executive who would run the country like a boardroom.
Rand Paul was favored by just 6 percent of self-identified Republicans in the poll.
