Wingnut Radio: Ben Carson is Like Nazi Doctors

Written by SK Ashby

I expected Doctor Ben Carson would face some criticism from the Right for his participation in fetal tissue research, but this is extraordinary.

Mat Staver or Matt Barber discussed the issue on their Faith & Freedom radio program where they compared Carson to Nazi scientists.

"During the Nuremberg trials with Nazi Germany, there were some doctors that were placed on trial ... As he was on trial and kind of trying to rationalize the atrocities that he took part in, he basically said, 'Well, as long as they were torturing and killing these Jewish people anyway, it would be stupid not to take their body parts and to do medical research on them.' That's exactly what this Republican candidate, by the way, said relative to the research on these aborted children. There is no difference."

It strikes me that a scientist would have virtually no chance of winning the Republican nomination for president unless they're willing to jettison the scientific method itself.

There is nothing wrong with the research Ben Carson participated in, but the terms of wingnut debate dictate that he proclaim his participation was superficial at best.

I would be surprised if Carson's research isn't mentioned during the next GOP primary debate as struggling candidates attempt to displace him.

It's amusing to think that one of Carson's only good qualities -- his contributions to medical science -- could bring him down.
