In other news, Representative Andy Harris (R-MD) told his constituents at a town hall meeting that Washington D.C. should not be a state because there's so many black people who make "irresponsible decisions" like legalizing weed.

In a confrontation with marijuana legalization activist Adam Eidinger, Harris told Eidinger that he did not “think [D.C.] ought to be a state because they make irresponsible decisions like legalizing marijuana when the African-American unemployment rate is 40 percent and the African-American graduation rate from high school is 12 percent.”

Harris might want to brush up on his facts. The actual unemployment rate for African Americans in Washington, D.C. is 13.6 percent. The high school graduation rate for African American students in Washington, D.C. is 59.7 percent.

Congressman Harris made an irresponsible decision to open his mouth.

Meanwhile, the Grayson County, Kentucky judge/executive told a fiscal court meeting that he opposes a countywide smoking ban because he isn't black.

Audio from the meeting provided by K105 reveals Logsdon's response: “I’m not black and I’m not Obama. And I’m not making you do anything.

After a nearly 10-second pause, the judge/executive continued: “And I love blacks and whites. I respect blacks but you know, I’m not Obama.

I'm not entirely sure what he's implying but I know it's not good.

Finally, the town of Whitesboro, New York has finally decided to change the city seal which depicted a white man choking a Native American.

Are we making progress? I'm not sure.
