Caliphate Clue

Remember that time a few weeks ago when former Fox News host Glenn Beck decided to become a born-again liberal?

You can conclusively put that notion to bed.

According to Beck, the historic, record-breaking women's march held across the globe in dozens of states and even other countries on Saturday was a big scoop of George Soros's Caliphate Crunch with chocolate-covered microchips.

Beck heaped praise on a piece on the New York Times website by Asra Nomani, a self-described liberal Muslim who has previously said that she voted for Donald Trump because she believes that “the liberals and the left have really betrayed America” when it comes to fighting Islamic extremism, who claimed that “Soros has funded, or has close relationships” with dozens of organization that participated in or supported the march.

I’m afraid tomorrow I have to go back to my chalkboard,” Beck said. “We’ve been working on it this weekend. We’re going to give you some of the connections, we’re going to talk to the woman who wrote that article for The New York Times about the connections to George Soros and to radical Islam and have a talk with her. Tomorrow I’m bringing the chalkboard in because the connections are there and if you want to call me a conspiracy theorist again, you can; I’m not going to accuse anybody of anything, I’m just going to point out the facts because somebody has to and perhaps someone in the media will listen.”

He's a conspiracy theorist.

Everything old is new again, even Glenn Beck's chalkboard.

Did anyone really buy into Beck’s “conversion”? I sure didn’t. When a loony who has opposed every fact n existence for the past decade suddenly claims he agrees with you, take it with a grain of salt and know that 24 hours later said loony will have the polar opposite view and help light the torches to burn you at the stake. Glenn Beck has been a loony since his introduction and remains a loony to this day.

I’m not going to accuse anybody of anything, says the man whose promotional video is titled “Glenn Beck Will Expose The Soros/Radical Islam Forces Behind The Women’s March” (eccentric capitalization in original). Sounds pretty accusatory to me.

I can’t help but point, as Charlie Pierce often does, to the words of wisdom dispensed by Sam Spade: “The cheaper the crook, the gaudier the patter.”

Somebody tell Lawrence O’Donnell who made herculean efforts in the Taking Beck Seriously Dept. I’m sure he’ll be crushed. It’s all a sham and so much of our media seem more than willing to go along.
