Meanwhile, U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman ruled in favor of Louisiana’s ban on same-sex marriage today because being gay is a “lifestyle choice” and may lead to incest.

Feldman is an embarrassment and his ruling will be overturned at the next stop.

    Yes, he’s an embarrassment, but an appeal would go to the 5th Circuit. A reversal is anything but a slam-dunk.

    Ultimately, it’ll be up to the Supremes. That’s not a cheerful thought, is it?

      The thing is they’ve more or less already ruled on it. The arguments used by Feldman in this case are some of the same arguments used for DOMA at the Supreme Court, and they lost.

      If the Supremes were to uphold state bans, it would be out of pure states rights fetishism. No legit reason.

        You mean he’s decided to ignore precedent and an Supreme Court decision? Feldman must be some kind of, of… activist judge!

        Oh, wait. He’s a Republican. I guess it’s OK then.
