Color me skeptical, but NBC reports that state lawmakers are considering impeaching New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for obstruction of justice.
One committee chairman who did not want to be named said "clearly obstruction of justice" would be an obvious charge against the governor.
The legislator told NBC 4 New York the chances are probably 50-50 that the assembly would pursue impeachment.
At least three of Christie's former staffers and appointees have directly implicated the governor. Throwing them under the bus may have allowed Christie to briefly run for president, but it's not doing him any favors now. And things can still get worse for Christie.
The trial against two of Christie's former appointees has barely even begun and there's no telling what evidence could be presented that further implicates the governor.
There's no doubt in my mind that Christie is guilty, I'm just skeptical that state lawmakers will go through with impeachment.
