Chris Christie Vetoes Another Domestic Violence Bill

Written by SK Ashby

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has once again vetoed a bill that would keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers.

This is the second time Governor Christie has vetoed this legislation which, he unbelievably says, should be altered to hand out more guns.

Calling the measure "identical to legislation I conditionally vetoed last session," the Republican governor proposed a rewrite to the bill that would expedite the permit process for domestic abuse victims seeking access to guns for their own protection. [...]

Howard Moskowitz, an attorney for the advocacy group Ceasefire NJ, said the measure was "intended to close important but discrete loopholes in existing law."

The legislation Christie vetoed was very specific, forcing only those who've had a restraining order placed against them to forfeit their guns.

That doesn't seem like a gross encroachment of big government to me, but I'm not Chris Christie and I'm not angling to be Donald Trump's running mate.
