Cohen Says Trump Knew About Don Jr’s Meeting With Russians

Written by SK Ashby

In this case it appears that Trump's former lawyer and henchman Michael Cohen does not have secret recordings of the event, but Cohen has reportedly told investigators that Trump knew in advance about Donald Jr's infamous meeting with the Russians at Trump Tower.

Cohen has reportedly expressed his willingness to testify to that fact.

Cohen is willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller, the sources said.

Cohen's claim would contradict repeated denials by Trump, Donald Trump Jr., their lawyers and other administration officials who have said that the President knew nothing about the Trump Tower meeting until he was approached about it by The New York Times in July 2017.

Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians' offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen's account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.

I wouldn't necessarily take Michael Cohen's word for a whole lot, but in this case we don't have to. There's already more than enough evidence and reason to believe that Trump knew all about the meeting.

Donald Trump Jr was not alone in that meeting. He was accompanied by Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner. In Trumpworld, there's no one higher up the food chain than Donny and Jared.

Furthermore, they met in Trump's building where his campaign offices (and his home) were also based.

Of course he knew about it.

The "several others" who were allegedly present when Trump approved the meeting should probably contact a lawyer if they don't have one already.
