Creepy Robot of the Day

Boston Dynamics' latest robot may not be as terrifying as its bipedal and animal-like siblings, but it's no less impressive.

I hadn't considered the possibility that a wheeled-robot may be even more deadly, but its speed and agility give me pause. It handles stairs with ease and is even capable of jumping 4 feet in the air.

On second thought, this might be more terrifying than robots that walk on legs. There's no way you're running away from this thing.

  • There’s a point about halfway through the video where the robot points both arms outwards and spins in place. I’m sure conservatives are imagining it holding dual machine guns and spraying fire at brown people in that instant.

I’m mighty impressed. The advances Boston Dynamics has made in dynamic balancing are—you should pardon the expression—staggering.

I do want to see Handle go up a flight of steps, but that’s a quibble.

I’m calling Old Glory Insurance immediately! When they grab you with those metal claws, you can’t break free.. because they’re made of metal, and robots are strong.

If you were to offer it some 3-in-1 oil, do you think it would protect you rather than toss you down a flight of steps? Because I would want to make sure that it saw me as Friend.

Wow! That looks like a cross between Michael Jackson, a figure skater, and a skateboarder.
