Trump lawyer Mark Kasowitz reportedly told Trump regime staffers that they don't need their own lawyers, but at least some people close to Trump are not taking Kasowitz's very bad advice.

Mike Pence has hired a lawyer.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Mike Pence has hired a personal criminal defense lawyer to guide him through the various investigations encircling the White House, an aide said on Thursday.

Mr. Pence has retained Richard Cullen, a former United States attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, becoming one of the most prominent figures in the Trump administration to have taken on personal white-collar criminal defense counsel.

Trump's other lawyer, Michael Cohen, and former Trump campaign staffer Michael Caputo have also hired their own lawyers according to NBC News reporter Katy Tur.

Special prosecutor and former FBI director Robert Mueller has also hired a dozen more lawyers.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has hired 13 lawyers for his probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 investigation and plans on hiring “several more,” a spokesman for Mueller told Talking Points Memo on Friday.

“In addition to Mr. Mueller, we have 13 attorneys on board, with several more in the pipeline,” Mueller’s spokesman, Peter Carr, told TPM in an email. “The number of people will be determined by the needs of the investigation.”
