As we have repeatedly witnessed during Trump's time in the White House, things are often dumber than you can possibly imagine.
Former Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor testified behind closed-doors last week and, according to him, a group of the highest ranking governments officials were prevented from scheduling a meeting with Trump to tell him that withholding military aid from Ukraine was a bad idea because of an entirely different bad idea.
In his testimony, Taylor was asked about his remark that the secretaries of defense and state, the CIA director and the national security adviser had sought a joint meeting with Trump to change his mind on withholding military aid from Ukraine, but that such a meeting was “hard to schedule.”
He said one reason was the president’s interest in buying Greenland from Denmark.
“I think this was also about the time of the Greenland question, about purchasing Greenland, which took up a lot of energy" in the National Security Council, Taylor told the lawmakers.
Nothing is ever really concluded in the Trump regime, it's just papered over by the next stupid thing; the next scandal.
