“Executive Time” May Now Include Virtual Golf

Written by SK Ashby

While an apparently "unsophisticated" golf putting simulator had been installed at the White House under President Obama, the Washington Post reports that Trump has replaced and upgraded the system to encompass an entire room.

Trump's new simulator reportedly includes a giant screen that will allow him to virtually play golf anywhere in the world.

President Trump has installed a room-sized “golf simulator” game at the White House, which allows him to play virtual rounds at courses all over the world by hitting a ball into a large video screen, according to two people told about the system. [...]

How much time does it take to play a virtual round of 18 holes?

About an hour if you’re playing alone, according to the websites of indoor-golf businesses that rent out their TrackMan systems to visiting players. But the games can go longer: In a video posted on TrackMan’s website, one customer says it takes 3 to 3½ hours if he plays with three friends.

Trump's new simulator was reportedly installed in the private residence at the White House, meaning the hundreds of hours that Trump spends in "executive time" may now include virtual golfing.

The White House said Trump has not played virtual golf during executive time in a statement to the Washington Post, but I'm not going to take their word for it.

President Obama did not have "executive time."
