In other news, American retail sales were forecast to increase by 0.3 percent in February, but sales actually dropped by 0.2 percent instead. It's tax cut magic!

The surprise drop in sales in February could partly reflect delays in processing tax refunds in the middle of the month. Tax refunds have also been smaller on average compared to prior years following the revamping of the tax code in January 2018. Cold and wet weather could also have hurt sales.

Meanwhile, Britain is a Brexit dumpster fire.

Finally, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hired former American intelligence workers to hack a BBC host and members of the Arab media according to an exclusive report from Reuters.

The American operatives worked for Project Raven, a secret Emirati intelligence program that spied on dissidents, militants and political opponents of the UAE monarchy. A Reuters investigation in January revealed Project Raven’s existence and inner workings, including the fact that it surveilled a British activist and several unnamed U.S. journalists.

The Raven operatives — who included at least nine former employees of the U.S. National Security Agency and the U.S. military — found themselves thrust into the thick of a high-stakes dispute among America’s Gulf allies. The Americans’ role in the UAE-Qatar imbroglio highlights how former U.S. intelligence officials have become key players in the cyber wars of other nations, with little oversight from Washington.

See Michael Flynn. This, I believe, is precisely what were the redacted things he was doing that made Judge Sullivan call him a traitor. As a country, we no longer control our own foreign policy. And when it comes to organizations like the NRA and probably other organizations that we do not know about, we no longer control our own domestic policy.

I have to say I’m quite surprised that there doesn’t seem to be outrage about the tax situation. This is the first year I’ve had a substantial (by 75%) reduction in my tax refund. I’m not a rich person, very middle class, although now I’m on disability. Same tax guy, same situation the last several years and suddenly the floor drops out. For what, paying for more barbed wire at the border? Golf trips to Mar A Lago? Time for torches and pitchforks!

Ditto – I previously used to get refunds – I work two jobs and have extra tax without at my main job to cover for the second one. I actually made less money this year than last year, yet owe almost $900. But, of course, what difference will this make to the Rancid Cheetoh’s base when he promises to hate all the same people they do and make those awful minorities and parasitic poor and liberals and feminists and LGBT and immigrants pay for the sin of being alive. Who cares whether they torch their future and their wallet, so long as people they have been conditioned to hate and blame for everything get screwed in the process. That is seemingly ALL that matters.
