Friday In Bizarro Iraq

Where the surge didn't work and the war isn't largely over:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Five American soldiers were killed in roadside bombings in Iraq on Friday, the U.S. military said on Saturday, while Iraqi police detained 22 suspects in raids against Shi'ite militiamen.

The latest arrests come as the U.S. military aggressively pursues what it describes as rogue elements of anti-U.S. Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's Mehdi Army and other Shi'ite militia which Washington says are supported by Iran.

But rest assured, Senator McCain will be spending the next hundred years telling us that the surge is working.
