Giuliani: Collusion is Actually Okay

Written by SK Ashby

It has always been abundantly clear that members of the Trump campaign sought and participated in the Russian effort to disrupt the 2016 election and the Mueller report confirmed as much, but Trump's TV lawyer Rudy Giuliani doesn't see what the big deal is.

Giuliani appeared on CNN yesterday morning where he said that accepting stolen documents from a foreign intelligence service is fine.

"There's nothing wrong with taking information from Russians," Giuliani said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

Asked by CNN's Jake Tapper if he would have taken information from a foreign source, Giuliani said, "I probably wouldn't."

"I wasn't asked," Giuliani said. "I would have advised, just out of excess of caution, don't do it."

I can't say that I'm the least bit surprised that Giuliani would say something like that, but I think this tells us there's a very real possibility that it could happen again.

If members of Trumpworld and the GOP do not see a problem in accepting the assistance of a foreign adversary to defeat a political opponent, there may be nothing stopping them from doing it again.

If there's any consolation I can think of, it's that we know exactly what to look for now. Disrupting the 2020 election won't be quite as easy.
