In other news, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he's going to spend $80 million on the midterm elections to help elect Democrats.

Meanwhile, the latest forecast from Bloomberg economists says wind and solar energy will account for nearly 50 percent of global power generation by 2050 even if it's not mandated by the government because the cost of solar is expected to drop by 71 percent while the cost of wind will drop by 58 percent. Coal will account for just 11 percent of global energy.

Finally, Trump's former fixer and henchman Michael Cohen has finally resigned from the RNC finance committee. He says it's partially because of Trump's child separation policy.

"As the son of a Polish holocaust survivor, the images and sounds of this family separation policy is heart wrenching,” Cohen wrote. “While I strongly support measures that will secure our porous borders, children should never be used as bargaining chips."

Cohen on Tuesday hired New York lawyer Guy Petrillo to represent him in a federal investigation into his business dealings.

Glad to hear Bloomberg is chipping in but I have to say, he could throw a lot more than 80 mil into this. Still credit where it’s due. At least he’s involved.

Solar and wind tech could have been a boon for America. We could have made them the priority and (I know a good liberal isn’t supposed to use this word in a good way but…) monopolized them. For silly things like tax revenue and jobs. That might have been a way of putting America first. A phrase that will never fail to make me sick.

    Michael Cohen sites the Holocaust…
    The fucking gall…

Agreed. Wind and Solar could have already been THE primary sources of energy if, and I keep coming back this, “Saint” Reagan hadn’t ripped down the solar panels that Jimmy Carter had installed on the White House. It would have been a symbol of a new and better direction. Instead it was an act of willful ignorance…a missed opportunity…almost. I do believe there is still time for us to be the leader in this area of development and manufacturing. Some states are already implementing legislation towards sustainable energy production.

My wife and I just bought a house (we move into it in 39 days) and we’ve already done a cursory online analysis of the roof capability and advantage it has for solar panels. It measured up to 86 out of 100. We’ll be investing when the time comes.

Long term I’m sure you and your family will benefit financially and of course so will the environment. The real question is

Just kidding. Congratulations on the house by the way.

    • I think Cohen is getting ready to turn on Trump. All that blather about being a descendant of Holocaust survivors is just cover.
