In other news, a veteran who served 2 tours in Afghanistan is facing possible deportation because he was charged with a non-violent drug offense. The Pentagon's recruitment is going to dive into the shitter under Trump.

Meanwhile, Media Matters has a full rundown of the Celebrity Apprentice shitshow that just cratered. To make a long story short, all NBC got for their troubles is a lousy t-shirt.

Finally, Ben Carson said a thing today.

"That's what America is about, a land of dreams and opportunity," Carson said. "There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters, might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land."

That’s like saying Native Americans chose to gain reservations and casinos through genocide.

    • Exactly, they had a dream while being forced marched on the Trail of Tears…FFS

A soldier serves two tours in a war on behalf of this country and now this government is considering deporting him because of a drug offense. If this doesn’t sicken you immediately you’re probably a Trump voter. My sympathy for Trump’s voters is officially exhausted.

I can honestly state that I have never watched even one moment of either iteration of The Apprentice. I’m rather proud of that. NBC should be ashamed of itself (No I’m not naive enough to believe a corporation is capable of that emotion.) That show is clearly the perfect example of the rock bottom of the culture so many Americans have descended into. Not solely because of the sickening monster it elevated.

I’m not the least bit surprised by Carson’s statement. He’s been spouting this kind of ahistorical idiocy for years. He’s a brilliant surgeon and as far I’m concerned that legacy is untouchable. This is the only way in which he is brilliant. Outside of his extraordinary talents as a physician the man is a very typical consumer of talk radio politics. Basically, he’s an idiot.

My first reaction to his supporters was sympathy, but after a second’s reflection, it quickly turned to scorn. After swallowing the gop’s bs memes about racism, homophobia, abortion, guns and gay marriage, while ignoring the fact that they were being screwed economically, when they finally twigged to the fact they were in trouble who did they turn to but Trump who fed them more of the same bs while promising them impossibilities. They have gotten what they deserve and will die blaming everyone but themselves.

Ben Carson has said some stupid things, but this takes stupid to a new level.

Wow. I don’t think they “had a dream” about being forcibly kidnapped and brutalized.
