“It hasn’t been signed and sealed”

After his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 conference, Trump tweeted that China would be eliminating tariffs on imports of American-made cars, among other things, but the bad news is there is no such deal.

Trump's top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, was forced to admit there is no deal this morning.

“I think it’s coming, OK,” adviser Larry Kudlow said on Fox News Tuesday. “It hasn’t been signed and sealed and delivered yet.”

Trump jolted car stocks by announcing late Sunday that a deal had been reached, following his dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday at the Group of 20 summit in Buenos Aires.

Officials in Beijing declined to comment on the tweet and haven’t confirmed such an agreement.

Kudlow also spoke at a conference this morning where he also admitted that he's not entirely confident that they'll be able to reach a deal in 90 days.

Me neither.

White House National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow said Tuesday a trade deal between the U.S. and China appears to be moving "in the right direction" but held out the prospect a deal may not get done. [...]

Kudlow said he saw "real chemistry" between the leaders at a dinner meeting at the summit. When told that the administration is asking China to do in 90 days what hasn't been accomplished over the last 20 years, Kudlow said he had no assurances. "I'm just that saying in my judgment, others may disagree, we have come further and that the table of contents is larger than anything we've seen before."

Trump doesn't have "real chemistry" with any sentient being on the planet.

He doesn't even like dogs.
