Abortion Congress Senate

It’s All About Jobs

House Republicans introduced a 20-week abortion ban on the very first day of the new session of Congress, but Senate Republicans weren’t far behind.

Senator David Vitter one-upped (four-upped?) his colleagues in the House on the following day by unveiling four abortion bills, including yet another assault on Planned Parenthood.

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) introduced four bills on Wednesday that would bar Planned Parenthood from receiving federal family planning funds, require all abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a local hospital, ban abortions performed on the basis of gender, and allow hospitals, doctors and nurses to refuse to provide or participate in abortion care for women, even in cases of emergency.

Now that Republicans control both chambers of Congress, it would be a good time to remind everyone that President Obama and a handful of Senate Democrats are the only thing standing between us and the realization of some truly awful shit.

The next president will have the same responsibility and holding on to the White House will be just as important as ever.

Every one of these bills is solely intended as an invitation for Righty judges (and Supreme Court Justices) to revisit Roe v. Wade, and my five bucks says those judges and Justices will be unable to resist.

And Ashby, I think you meant to link to this article:

Thanks for spotting that. I think I shared the Football link on Twitter and got them mixed up.

We’ve all linked done it. It’s easy to do, especially if you’re doing two or three things at once.

Let’s hope the Democrats do that.

I think we tried reminding them back in 2010, 2012, and 2014. Their response was, “Go f*** yourself, Obama’s worse than Bush, NSA, and I’m not voting to send a message and voting doesn’t work anyway.”

A bit long-winded, but I guess we have to try again.

but I guess we have to try again

Yeah, we;re going to have to be in this for the long slog.

It’s also an excellent time to keep reminding everybody that David Vitter continually visited prostitutes for sex, thereby cheating on his wife frequently, while wearing a giant diaper. So people need to keep shoving this into the face of this giant, hypocritical piece of shit every time he tries and propose something awful, like denying the rights of women to have an abortion. Because he only sees them as whores who are only good for his perverse sexual appetites.

    • JMAshby

      Yes, that too

Perhaps a nickname is in order. “Diaper Dave” has a ring to it, I think.

Fitting, but it’s not exactly media-friendly, is it?
