Kansas Senate Ethics Chairman Can’t Control His Eyes or His Boner, Blames Women

Written by SK Ashby

The chairman of the Kansas Senate Ethics and Elections Committee, Mitch Holmes (R), is apparently unable to control his wandering eyes and, to that end, he has instituted a special dress code for women who testify before the committee.

Under the new dress code, women will not be allowed to wear low-cut necklines or short skirts but no specific lengths have been given.

“It’s one of those things that’s hard to define,” Holmes said. “Put it out there and let people know we’re really looking for you to be addressing the issue rather than trying to distract or bring eyes to yourself.”

Holmes said he considered requiring men to wear suits and ties during testimony but decided males didn’t need any guidance. He expects lobbyists to understand the rules when interacting with his committee, although he acknowledged infrequent visitors to the Statehouse might be unaware.

Eyeroll

I highly doubt any women testifying in front of the goddamn Ethics Committee are looking to draw the male gaze of Chairman Holmes, a 53-year old conservative white asshole.

Even if that were the case, this can only be taken as Mitch Holmes declaring that he, the chairman of the Ethics Committee, is unable to control himself.

I don't know if Mitch Holmes is a married man, but if he is this should be taken as a sign that he is easily distracted by almost every woman in public who is not bound by his dress code.

There isn't enough shame in the world today for this guy.
