In other news, Arron Banks, the millionaire who funded the Leave.EU Brexit campaign run by Nigel Farage, had extensive contact with Russians officials during the campaign. Banks previously denied having contact.

Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services reportedly stopped conducting background checks for gun purchases for an entire year, but signed off on them anyway. Many thousands were approved with no check.

Finally, the state taxpayers of Missouri might have to pay for the lawyers hired by Eric Greitens to defend him from impeachment even though he resigned as governor without being impeached.

I remember the ‘reassurance tour’ that the a few gop Senators and Mike Pence did before the election with our allies in Europe. What is troubling about recent developments at the G7 and trump’s virtual surrender to North Korea is that he has shown the world more than the fact that he cannot be relied on as an ally. He has shown the world that the gop, one of the two major political parties in this country, cannot be relied on as well. Their ‘assurances’ mean absolutely nothing in any real terms. They may do a ‘tut tut’ here or there, but that is about it.
Because he has undermined any commitment by gop to what they have said they stood for for decades, he has undermined any commitments the United States makes. This was always the danger. What he would do in terms of our alliances. He started out attacking NATO. Now Canada. And now he will abandon South Korea and ally the United States with Kim Jung Un. Please don’t tell me Putin had nothing whatsoever to do with this change in stance. It defies credulity. Putin’s Puppet and then some.
The fact that he backed off a Kim like threat to ‘nuke’ Kim hardly makes this some kind of accomplishment for ‘peace’.
This is the first stage of flat out surrender.

trump isn’t “ending the Cold War”. He is reversing the outcome. He is making the United States part of a worldwide system of oppression. He is not ‘negotiating’ with North Korea. He is surrendering. He will simply undercut or remove the sanctions if possible. Legitimize a repressive government that human rights record is a nightmare and who makes its own people live in darkness. And he will legitimize it as a nuclear power.
Putin owns him. China has bought him. He doesn’t act for the United States or its principles and history. He acts for himself.

Keep this Florida story in mind the next time some Republican senator or representative is on the tube whining about how “we need to enforce the laws that are already on the books.” This should get at least the attention that the “Fast and Furious” program got. It won’t.

Shouldn’t that be “the grift that keeps on taking”?

People wondered how in the world Britain voted to leave the EU. People wondered how in the world the US elected Trump president. Western millionaires and billionaires – oligarch wannabes all – carrying water for Putin’s anti-democracy campaigns provide the key to understand it.
