North Korea Reminds Us They Will Never Disarm

Remember North Korea?

The Kim regime must be starved for attention because they released a statement last night to remind the world that they will never give up their nuclear weapons even if Trump claims they've already agreed to.

More specifically, the North says they will not give up their nuclear weapons unless the United States gives up their nuclear weapons.

From the Associated Press:

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea said Thursday it will never unilaterally give up its nuclear weapons unless the United States first removes what Pyongyang called a nuclear threat. The surprisingly blunt statement jars with Seoul’s rosier presentation of the North Korean position and could rattle the fragile trilateral diplomacy to defuse a nuclear crisis that last year had many fearing war. [...]

“The United States must now recognize the accurate meaning of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and especially, must study geography,” the statement said.

The North's statement more explicitly says the United States must remove nuclear weapons from the entire region which is not something we can do because we have no nuclear weapons there. The United States removed nuclear weapons from South Korea nearly 30 years ago.

Given that the North is making demands we literally cannot give them, this should probably be read as a declaration that they'll never disarm.

But we knew that, didn't we?
