In other news, the New York Times reports that Deutsche Bank agreed to do business with Trump when no American banks would because Trump misrepresented his wealth, among other things.

Meanwhile, former Speaker Paul Ryan is now a Fox News board member following the sale of the company's entertainment assets to Disney. Of course he is.

Finally, Reveal reports that the Office of Refugee Resettlement has been holding unaccompanied migrant children in secret shelters that haven't previously been disclosed by the government.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement, the government agency that cares for unaccompanied minors, has never made the shelters’ existence public or even disclosed them to the minors’ own attorneys in a landmark class-action case.

It remains unclear how many total sites are under operation, but there are at least five in Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Virginia, holding at least 16 boys and girls for the refugee agency, some as young as 9 years old.

Programming note... I'm going take an extended break through the next week, and I'll level with you all -- I took some time away when my mother died in January because I had run out of fucks to give and I needed to replenish them. And I was fine for a time, but over the past week I've regressed into a place where I just don't care, again, and I believe in affects my writing. So, I'm going to take a week and recover so I can actually write something that is worth reading. I plan to be back here on Monday, April 1st.

You might think about another week..or several. Things seem to really suck right now…

Be well, Bob. We need you on that wall.

Oh, so now Rump “likes Kim,” (North Korea, he reversed the sanctions imposed yesterday) but “doesn’t like McCain,”….ok.

Our first reaction to stress and unfortunate events is to deal with it, or think we have, only to discover there is no “dealing with it” in the sense of putting it to rest. I found this out when my sister, my mom, then my dad all died within the same year, and I changed jobs and moved across the country. It can take the rest of your life to come to terms with events and circumstances, it’s best to try to think about these things as ongoing, rather than having “been dealt with and put to rest.” It’s also better if we can find some way of not depending on others for our own mental well being. It’s kind of like..going down in an airplane..first put on your own oxygen mask, then you can worry about others. Take care of yourself.

Chilling out sounds like an excellent game plan, take care.

    Rest well, sir.

JM Ashby, on your worse day, you are 1000 times better than some of these hack writers for the Russian (White) House or other media outlets…

  • Aynwrong

It’s perfectly fitting that Ryan landed at Fox News. What else is conservative media but “wing nut welfare.”

Black sites for children. My God… History will never forgive those who voted for this.

Take care of yourself Ashby. You deserve it.

    1) Apparently, not only was Donald Trump overestimating his wealth, he was begging for new loans from Deutsche Bank to pay off existing loans from Deutsche Bank. That doesn’t seem to me the behavior of a fine, upstanding, legitimate businessman.

    2) It is nigh on impossible to fail upward in the world of conservative politics.

    3) This is what happens when voters elect monsters, who then appoint other monsters: black sites for children.

    4) Ashby, running out of fucks to give is a natural reaction to a death in the family. Give yourself as much time as you need; your mental health—your health generally—is more important than the political commentary you provide for us. We’ll be here when you get back.

Yep — it IS exhausting keeping up with all this fuckery and douchebaggery. Take some time, feel better. Maybe your devoted readers should do the same…
